What is the benefit of using you to assist me in booking my travel plans rather than simply doing it myself with an online booking tool?
You mean what benefits aside from getting to interact with us? Well, first of all, we are able to utilize our knowledge and contacts to get the best pricing, as well as provide you with more information about your trip and destination than would be provided on the online travel sites. Secondly, we make sure that your trip is just that... YOURS. We are also available to assist you should any unexpected issues occur (*cough* Crowdstrike *cough*). And lastly, we help you anticipate any potential problems before they arise. It all comes down to the personal attention. We are here for YOU.
Do you book Airline tickets?
Yes. Well, maybe. We will be happy to assist you with flights if they are part of a vacation package being booked through me. However, if you only need airline tickets and nothing else, we do not do those types of bookings. At this time, there is too much liability with airfare only bookings coupled with the fact that airlines do not pay commission to the travel advisor for the time spent booking the flights and maintaining them.
Can I compare prices with other travel agencies?
Absolutely. It is your trip. However, please keep in mind that K&G Travel will only manage bookings that were made through K&G Travel.
Do you charge a planning fee?
At this point in time, we do NOT charge a planning fee. As mentioned on this site, our payment comes from you purchasing your trip through us and the supplier paying us a commission after your trip is complete.
Can I use my frequent flyer miles or hotel rewards?
Unfortunately, you cannot use 'points' to book flights, hotels, etc. through us. However, we are able to enter your loyalty numbers into your reservation before you travel so that you can continue to accumulate points. If you want to use your points or rewards to pay for the flight or the hotel, you’ll have to book those yourself through your points programs.

Are there additional costs to working with a travel advisor?
No! In many cases, the price you pay by using a travel advisor is the same (or better) than you would find on your own through an online booking platform. There are no fees or commissions added to the cost of your trip that are paid to your travel advisor. What you pay for the trip is what you pay for the trip. Your travel advisor is paid by the supplier in the form of a commission based off of the cost of your trip.
How do I make a payment?
Making a payment is easy! Depending on how you booked your vacation, but most likely you will either be directed with a link to the supplier's payment platform or we will send you a credit card authorization form (through Tern Travel) so the payment can be securely made on the supplier's payment site. K&G Travel does not keep nor store your credit card information.
What payment methods do you accept?
Credit card payments. Each travel supplier determines which credit card brand that they accept.
Is my credit card payment/information secure?
Yes! Since we do not store your credit card information, we use Tern Travel for their PCI-compliant credit card authorizations. Authorization will need to be made for each payment required.
Can I pay with separate credit cards?
This all depends on whether the travel supplier is set up to accept multiple credit card payments.
Can you accept payments?
We do not process payments directly. However, we do assist you in making payments with the travel supplier. We will either provide you with a link for you to follow to enter your payment information directly (if available) or send you a secure credit card authorization so we can make payment directly into the supplier's payment portal. Again, K&G Travel does not keep nor store your credit card information.
Do I have to pay for the trip all at once?
That depends on the terms of the travel supplier and how many days it is until the start of your trip. In many cases, you'll need to pay a deposit (amounts vary) to book the reservation. Then, you may have additional payments due prior to the trip. Depending on how far out you book your trip, you could have several months to make payments towards your booking.

How long does it take to book a trip?
That all depends. Once we have discussed your vision for the trip, K&G Travel will try to provide you with a number of options within a few days. After that, it all depends on whether we are making any adjustments to the proposed options or not. So from start to finish, it could take only a matter of days... or it could take weeks depending on how many revisions are made.
Can I make changes to my booking?
Possibly. It all depends on the terms set forth by the suppling vendor of your booking. We will make every effort possible to assist you in making adjustments or changes. However, please note that any changes to your booking may incur an additional charge or fee from the supplier. Please reach out to your travel advisor for additional information.

Do I need travel insurance for my trip?
Do you need it? No. Is it recommended? Absolutely. Travel insurance provides you with the piece of mind that you are protected in case life throws you a curveball and you are unable to take or complete your vacation.
Is travel insurance included in the package price?
Unless specifically noted, the cost for travel insurance is not included in the package price and is an additional cost on top of the package price.
Is travel insurance refundable if I cancel my trip?
As with the cost of the trip, the refundability of the travel insurance varies based on the policy terms. Reach out to your travel advisor for additional information. Your advisor will be happy to assist you and guide you through the process.

Will I need a passport?
If you are traveling internationally, yes, you will need a U.S. Passport. Additionally, in many cases, your Passport will need to have at least six months of validity beyond the dates of your trip. In fact, some airlines will not allow you to board if this requirement is not met.
If you are traveling domestically, you do not need a U.S. Passport. However, we will note that it is a good form of identification at airports, especially for children. In fact, we suggest getting the U.S. Passport Card along with your U.S. Passport as you can use the Passport Card as a form of photo identification for your children.
When should I obtain a passport?
Honestly, we would say, 'If you don't have a passport already, get one.' You never know when you'll need one. Tell us, which would you prefer: (1) Having your U.S. Passport and being able to freely plan the international vacation of your dreams; or (2) Having to go through the application process and awaiting for the passport arrive before you can rest easy knowing that you have it?
How do I obtain a passport?
To get started applying for or renewing your U.S. Passport, please visit the Department of State's U.S. Passport website. You will find all of the information that you need to apply there.

What if I find something cheaper?
We understand that in today's day and age, a lot of clients are going to do some 'price shopping' (and may even continue to do so as we are preparing their quotes). However, sometimes these varying prices are not covering the same options. So if you do find a better price during your search, please do us a favor and let us know. That way, we can take a look at the details to ensure that we are comparing the same thing. Many times, these 'cheaper options' have less desirable flight schedules or hotel room. So if you are doing your own research, please make sure that you are selecting the same options that we have discussed. If what you have found is for a cheaper price, we ask that you please give me the opportunity to price match. As most of the time, we should be able to.

Does my destination have any safety issues that I should be advised of?
The U.S. Department of State provides a website where they list all of their current Travel Advisories for around the world.
Do I need vaccinations for my chosen destination?
Maybe. Each country and location has its own rules regarding vaccinations. We advice you to check the CDC's Travelers' Health website for the most up-to-date information.

Help! I need to cancel my booking. Am I able to cancel my booking if something comes up?
The cancellation policy of your booking will vary by travel supplier and will be included in your proposal before booking. Many airlines and hotels do not offer refunds for cancellations nor are we able to refund any cancellation fees. Therefore, we strongly suggest purchasing travel insurance as part of your booking. Certain travel insurance policies may offer cancellation coverage, including 'cancel for any reason' options. For more information, please reach out to your travel advisor to discuss insurance options and pricing.
