Get Your U.S. Passport
(You won't regret it!)
K&G Travel... Soon to be your new travel partner!!!
(You won't regret it!)
Honestly, we strongly believe that every U.S. citizen should get a U.S. Passport, if they are able to. If an opportunity falls into your lap to travel internationally, do you really want to have to pass on it because you don't have a passport and won't be able to get one in time? And the reality is, U.S. Passport processing times ebb and flow so not being reliant on the processing time at the U.S. Department of State would be HUGE! Plus, the U.S. Passport is a great form of identification for foreign and domestic travel. Not to mention, a U.S. Passport Card is an excellent form of photo identification for your children to keep with you when travelling.
Do You Need a Passport?
If you’re traveling outside the United States, a valid U.S. passport is required for air travel, and strongly recommended for most international trips.
For domestic travel within the U.S., a passport is not required — but many travelers choose to get one anyway because it’s the most universally accepted form of identification at airports and border crossings.
Passport Basics
A U.S. passport:
Confirms your U.S. citizenship
Lets you re‑enter the U.S. after international travel
Opens the door to travel around the world
The U.S. Department of State issues passports through a network of agencies and acceptance facilities around the country.
When Should You Get One?
We recommend applying as soon as you start planning international travel. Passport processing can take several weeks, and expedited services are limited and appointment‑based.
Timing tips:
Routine processing typically takes several weeks.
Expedited processing can be faster but still requires planning.
If you already have a passport, make sure it’s valid for at least 6 months after your trip ends — some countries enforce this rule.
How to Apply
K&G Travel does not process or submit passport applications on your behalf, but we can guide you to the official resources you need to start or renew your passport with confidence.
What to do:
Visit the U.S. Department of State official passport website — this is the only legitimate site to get forms and instructions. Always ensure the URL ends in “.gov”. Third‑party sites with “.com” or similar can be scams.
Determine whether you are applying for a new passport or a renewal.
Fill out the appropriate form, gather required documents (proof of citizenship, photo ID, passport photo), and submit at an acceptance facility or passport agency.
For Families & Children
If you are applying for a passport for someone under age 16, both parents or guardians typically must appear in person at the passport acceptance facility with the child.

Passport FAQs
Q: Can I travel internationally without a passport?
No — a valid U.S. passport is required for international travel by air. Some land or sea travel may accept alternative documents, but a passport book is the safest and most universal option.
Q: What if my passport expires soon?
If your passport will expire within six months of your trip’s end date, consider renewing it early — many countries enforce a 6‑month validity rule.
